Attention english speaking visitors: The text message below is a form of advanced fee fraud, a.k.a. a Nigerian or 419 scam. The example below is not a real 419, in some sense, because it uses another storyline. In the end the effect will be the same: you'll have to pay up (and share your identity with a couple of conmen) before you can lay your hands on the promised prize - which will never happen, of course, as there is no prize. Dit is een leuk voorbeeld: er wordt geen standaard-verhaal gebruikt over 'gevonden geld', maar een smoes over een zogenaamde gewonnen prijs. Die bestaat natuurlijk niet; het is de oplichters ergens anders om te doen. Voor het innen van de zogenaamde prijs hebben deze sinterklazen uit Madrid wat naam- en adresgegevens nodig (bankrekeningnummers bijvoorbeeld), en misschien moet je nog wat contant geld overmaken om de procedures te bekostigen.. Zo krijgen ze de beschikking over je identiteit, en ze zullen die gebruiken om je bankrekening te plunderen, of aankopen te doen onder jouw naam.
